Cycle 1, Episode 4: “The Girl Who Drives Everyone Crazy”
It’s episode 4 and we’re fresh off makeovers.
Ebony was in the bottom two last week with Nicole, and Tyra brought up how the texture of Ebony’s skin “needs a lot of work”.
This was very triggering for me. I’m 32 years old and STILL get acne pretty regularly. I first started taking medicine for it around the eighth grade. After several years and multiple dosage adjustments, I hadn’t made much progress. I secretly used my sister’s concealer to attempt to hide the worst pimples. The doctor finally decided to move me up to the strong stuff: Accutane.
That’s right. It’s the one that makes your skin peel, your lips chap and you can’t donate blood while you’re on it or for six months after you stop. You have to get blood tests monthly to make sure your white blood cell counts are ok. And it can cause birth defects, so if you’re female and taking Accutane, you have to be on TWO types of birth control.
