More than just a dental makeover

There’s this episode of Cycle 6 of America’s Next Top Model where the contestants have to perform a runway challenge inside a church. To win, they need to show attitude and be as flamboyant as possible. Joanie — a preacher’s daughter who confesses to performing at amateur nights at a strip club — says it’s between her and Jade — the embodiment of a stereotypical gay man in a woman’s body. Jade is so over-the-top and starved for attention, she basically has the thing in the bag. She’s the one who pointed out it’s not “America’s Next Top Best Friend” for all of us who didn’t know.

Whenever Tyra called Jade’s name at judging, she would say “thank you for believing in me”.
